The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church.
I have an idea of what that means to me, but I was curious what it means to you. Care to share?
Totally unrelatedly, are descendants the ones who go really deep to feed the queen & care for the babies?
The world sees nothing but itself. The church is looking toward (hopefully) to Christ, but sees the world around them in need. How's that?
ReplyDeleteI like it!
ReplyDeleteOoh... look at all the comments. :(
Anyway... neat perspective, Christy. Personally, I see that, instead of focusing on the world, we should be focussed on the church (meaning, of course, God's church, His body of believers on the earth). Or, rather, that the world is not the center of the universe, with the church at its edge, the church is at the center of the universe, and it's surrounded by the world. Don't concern yourself with the "things of the world" but instead concern yourself with the "things of the church" - that is, being His body to a lost and dying world.
Or something like that.
